Prairie and Wetland Restoration – VIRTUAL (Members Only)

September 15, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

The Sugar Land Garden Club is excited to have you join us for our monthly meeting featuring a presentation by Terri Hurley, Texas Master Naturalist, Coastal Prairie Chapter.

In 2009, The Coastal Prairie Chapter had the grand idea of turning parts of a city park from the cotton field into a nature and wetlands preserve.  Since then, chapter volunteers have strived to convert 164 acres into habitat for native Texas flora and fauna and for prairie restoration using the thousands of plants grown onsite each year and to educate the public about the importance of restoring this native habitat.

Join in a Zoom meeting to see what has been done so far: Butterfly Garden, Wetlands Area, Prairie Demo Gardens, 20-Acre Prairie Restoration Area, and Woodlands Bird Sanctuary. Terri’s presentation will begin at 10:00am.

See Mac’s email for Zoom class link.

On hour CE.
