Containers have many uses for herb growers. They provide the excellent drainage most herbs need, they can be moved to take advantage of the best exposure, and they can make lovely additions to home entrances and outdoor spaces. Planted in a container, a young herb can develop a nicely mature root system before being placed in its permanent garden spot.

This program will include a discussion of how to choose the right pot, how to create the best soil mix and fertilizer for your herbs, proper watering techniques, how to determine when a potted herb needs to be moved on, and many other details related to using this technique for year-round herb growing.
